In the film, Katrina Kaif plays Zoya, a Pakistani spy and this may be changed as per the latest reports. It all started last year when Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had faced a wrath from political party MNS related with the roles played by Pakistani actors in the film, post Uri attack. It ended with Karan Johar releasing a video and in the video Karan had mentioned that he won’t work with any Pakistani actors in future. Now again, Katrina’s character in Tiger Zinda Hai may face hurdles. ALSO READThis American Model wants to work with Shah Rukh Khan - read details

According to a source, “If you remember, in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh was from Pakistan. But after the surgical strikes and the escalated hostilities between the two countries, her nationality was quickly changed, and she became an Indian Muslim from Lucknow.” ALSO READTiger Zinda Hai Trailer smashes all viewership records!

When asked regarding whether there will be any changes post this, the source added, “It’s likely. The guidelines clearly don’t allow this kind of a cross-border merger.” Indo- Pak romances face an unofficial ban as of now, the source added. The prequel (Ek Tha Tiger) already mentioned Zoya as a Pakistani girl. Now that the film has been shot completely, it will be interesting to see if the makers will be doing some necessary changes or not.
