TIE-UP OF THE YEAR! Shah Rukh Khan teams up with Netflix for an action series based on a book ‘The Bard of Blood’
Online Streaming service, Netflix sure sees India as a potential marketplace. The most up to date report by DNA puts forward that Indians are one of the top binge watchers on Netflix. With series like Riverdale, Stranger Things, House of Cards, Mater of None, Netflix has become immensely popular in India. And now, they are about to get even more popular, as superstar Shah Rukh Khan has joined hands with Netflix. Putting an end to all hearsays, Shah Rukh Khan and Netflix announced today that they are teaming up for a web series based on a book, ‘The Bard of Blood’.

The fresh multi-lingual Netflix original series, in partnership with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, is based on a book, ‘The Bard of Blood’ written by young Indian author, Bilal Siddiqi. The first season of the web series will have 8 episodes filled with high-octane action; something that has never been experimented with by the Indian film & TV industry.
Set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent, the multilingual series will tell the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love. A combination of combat skills, intellectual background and personal circumstances propel Kabir to avenge the past and face his deadliest enemies in a race against time. For sure Netflix is looking forward to enlarge its territory in India. SRK is not the only one venturing into the world of Netflix. Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are going to star in a web series based on the novel – Sacred Games. Saif is shooting for the series in Mumbai since the past 2 months, directed jointly by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane under the aegis of Phantom Films.
