Tiger Zinda Hai Movie Review: A perfect treat for Salman fans
Cast – Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Paresh Rawal, Girish Karnad, Angad Bedi, Paresh Pahuja, Anupriya Goenka, Gavie Chahal, Sajjad Delafrooz
Direction – Ali Abbas Zafar
Genre – Action/Thriller
Plot – Inspired from a true event, the story of Tiger Zinda Hai revolves around the rescue of Indian nurses held hostage in Iraq by terrorists, and the rescue mission is helmed by Indian RAW agent 'Tiger'.
Review – The story takes off from the ending of 'Ek Tha Tiger', Indian RAW agent Tiger and Pakistani ISI agent Zoya are married and happily living with their son. It's been 8 years, since they decided to choose their love over missions. But, their plans are going to change now, as another mission has arrived for the sleeping Tiger.
Tiger's ex-boss (played by Girish Karnad) tracks him down and this time he needs the help of Tiger to rescue 25 Indian nurses, who are held hostage by a dreadful terrorist organisation. And this marks the beginning of Salman Khan show with his on-screen presence looming large, joined by Katrina Kaif, the leading lady of the film, who jumps into the fray, as 15 Pakistani nurses are also held hostage alongwith the Indian nurses. The mission brings Indian and Pakistani agents together to fight terror in Iraq for the sake of humanity. Unsurprising, there is a fair sprinkle of patriotic lines too.
Tiger Zinda Hai seems to be visually stunning. Salman Khan plays 'Tiger' confidentially. And ofcourse, there's a treat for Salman fans [SPOILER] there's a shirtless Salman Khan scene in the film. Unfortunately, the weak point of the film is that, the screenplay loses it's focus, loosening the film's pace as well as our attention. Director Ali Abbas Zafar treats us with a lot of Ammo in addition to Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's performance. But the direction falters where the logic is thrown out of the window just to keep up with the larger than life image of one person and Ali Abbas Zafar is unable to keep you focused through the film's runtime. Katrina Kaif delivers some kick-ass stunts, while the antagonist Abu Usman (Sajjad Delafrooz), the head of terrorist organisation is impressive. The supporting cast deserves a special mention here, Paresh Rawal, Girish Karnad, Angad Bedi, Paresh Pahuja, Anupriya Goenka, Gavie Chahal deliver solid performances.
Final Words – With such an assumption, the storyline needed to be far more compelling, and the editing much tight. Needless to say, many action sequences defy logic, but there are some moments, that will leave Salman fans impressed.
