Plot - Kaira (Alia Bhatt) is a promising cinematographer, who is going through serious crisis in her life. Kaira flits like a butterfly from Raghuvendra (Kunal Kapoor) to Sid (Angad Bedi) and later to Rumi (Ali Zafar). Soon she finds Dr. Jahangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), a top notch therapist, who tries to analyse Kaira's problems and make her embrace life.

Review - Dear Zindagi is an Alia Bhatt film, she's the lead actor of the film. The men in cast, Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Ali Zafar and even Shah Rukh Khan are just there to support her. Aditya Roy Kapoor is having a cameo appearance. Dear Zindagi is just another film, that offers the powerful potential of Alia Bhatt. You just can't take your eyes off her, when she really gets into a scene, especially a scene which shows her outbursts. Things actually begin to look up just before interval, when Shah Rukh Khan without his signature step (trademark style/outstretched arms) makes an appearance. Alia is simply brilliant in her first consulation scene with her therapist Dr. Jehangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan). The audience will love the way, the Gauri (director) interpreted Kaira's character. Shah Rukh Khan as the therapist Dr. Jehangir Khan is a catalyst in Kaira's life, he tries to analyse Kaira's problems and makes her embrace life. Shah Rukh Khan's natural charm and dimpled smile will make many girls swoon over him. The best thing about SRK in Dear Zindagi is that, he allowed Alia to own the show as he let's himself be a spectator in few scenes. Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi lends able support and Ali Zafar oozes charisma.

The music is really good. The song "Gale Laga Le" is the best song in the film. Also, "Love You Zindagi" and "Tu Hi Hai" will not make you feel bored while watching the film.

The film is written and directed by Gauri Shinde. The plot of the film is all about what can happen in the life of a upper middle class teenage girl, and that isn't boring.
However, Dear Zindagi isn't a weak attempt. The film has some fine moments and natural warmth are it proceeds. The last meeting of Shah Rukh Khan and Alia is an example of brilliant writing and execution.

Dear Zindagi is not a typical Bollywood film. It's a must watch film, if you love the slice of a life film. Dear Zindagi is Alia's best performance and Shah Rukh Khan being his charming best. Ira Dubey,Kunal Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Ali Zafar and Aditya Roy Kapoor played their part very well. Director Gauri Shinde has hit it out of the ground.
