Dangal Movie Review : It's inspiring as well as entertaining, simply the best film of the year !
Director - Nitesh Tiwari
Duration - 2hr 49mins
Genre - Biographical Sports Drama
Ratings - 4.5/5
Plot - Dangal is based on the relationship between a father and his daughter. Mahavir Singh Phogat (Aamir Khan), a former wrestler from Haryana loses hopes of having a son. He starts training his daughters Geeta (Fatima Sana Shaikh) and Babita (Sanya Malhotra) to follow in his footsteps and make wrestling history.
Review - First of all, Dangal has nothing similar with Salman Khan's Sultan. Both the films are totally different from each other. Sultan was all about the struggle of an individual while Dangal is based on the relationship between a father and his daughter. Director Nitesh Tiwari is the real hero of the film, he's the script writer of the film along with Shreyas Jain, Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Mehrotra. The film has multiple goosebump inducing moments like Mahavir Singh Phogat's first fight in the room of an Administrative officer or Geeta pinning down her male opponent. Aamir Khan is the star of Dangal, he deserves compliment for experimenting with his roles. When he's on screen, you can't take your eyes off him. He becomes a father, the girls feel contempt and then start loving. He is a husband, who asks his wife to forget that she is the mother of her daughters until they get trained for the job. Sakshi Tanwar plays the wife of Mahavir Singh Phogat delivers an effective performance. The girls playing the young Geeta and Babita deliver a very remarkable performance. Debutants Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra are easily this year's best debutants, while other supporting characters are top notch. Pritam's music, the lyrics of Amitabh Bhattacharya and the songs are completely upto the mark. "Haanikarak Bapu" and "Dhaakad" are still my favourite tracks from Dangal. Dangal is the best film of the year as well as Aamir Khan's best performance till date. The film is made with a good intent and will surely win millions of hearts.
