Plot - The plot of the film deals with Selene (Kate Beckinsale), the vampire death dealer and her battle against ruthless assault from Lycans and the vampires that betrayed her. This time she isn't alone, she has two supporters, David (Theo James) & his father Thomas (Charles Dance). Selene seeks to stop the long-lasting war between the Lycans and Vampires.
Review - The Underworld franchise has never reached the heights of commercial success as the Twilight franchise. The first film of this franchise "Underworld", released in 2003, the initial premise of pitting vampires against werewolves was exciting, thrilling and successful enough to spark a string of sequels. The "Underworld" franchise has delivered perfectly solid movies in it's last four installments. In the third film of this franchise, "Rise of the Lycans" (2009), the iconic character of Kate Beckinsale's vampire killer Selene appeared in a brief cameo and delivered an entertaining movie as well as performance. In the fourth installment, Awakening (2012) she appeared again and signed up for the fifth and sixth franchise and the "Underworld" franchise seemed to be going from strength to strength. Kate Beckinsale doesn’t appear to have aged a day since the first release, she certainly acts like it. Now the fifth and the latest installment of the Underworld franchise continues it's trajectory. The film sticks to it's successful formula. The Vampires are still stuck in their endless war with werewolves. There's nothing new in the plot. Underworld - Blood Wars is a pretty lousy film. The film offers 90 minutes of bloodbath Vampires on Lycans, Landscapes and unearthly skies and above all Kate Beckinsale. Apart from few nice moments, this film is mostly business, as usual from the "Underworld" franchise. This film won't convert new fans to the Underworld cause, but if you are a fan of this franchise, then you'll surely come out happy.
