The film stars Tom Cruise as a military leader in the lead role who tries to stop the titular mummy from destroying London. The film is directed by Alex Curtzman (best known as the writer of Star Trek into darkness and Transformers).

The new Mummy looks like an action adventure film with horror elements, with Tom Cruise stuck in a death defying sequence right at the top. In the trailer, Tom Cruise faces various moments of peril and adventure. The ancient female mummy is bent on global destruction. Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond) stars as the Mummy herself in the film.

Director of the film, Alex Curtzman has been masterminding the new "Universal Monsters" universe, along side the architect of "Fast and The Furious", Chris Morgan with films about characters like "Vampire Hunter Abraham Van Helsing", "The Wolf Man" and "The Invisible Man".

The Mummy is intended to be a globetrotting adventure film. The film is said to kick off a Marvel like reboot of Universal Monsters. There will be scary moments in the film and in some moments The Mummy will take the center stage. After watching the trailer, we just can't wait to watch Tom Cruise in action. This film is designed to be a big budget Blockbuster, the film has extravagant budget of special effects, with all the elements we expect.
