Plot - Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), the athlete turned spy who was considered dead for years, is pulled out of retirement because a new global threat has arrived. The xXx program gets threatened by Pandora's Box (A device having ability to cause global destruction using geostationary satellites). Cage creates a team of thrill seakers, put together in a flashy montage to help him find the weapon. Together, they fight against Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his team.
Review - xXx - Return of Xander Cage offers action to the maximum level, with extreme stunts, bike chases, jumping off a plane without parachute. The film has a treacherous villain, a sharp shooter, a bumbling as well as adorable hacker to surprise the audience. The film also marks the debut of Indian Actress Deepika Padukone. Deepika plays the character of Serena Unger, who is given some back story. She adds the much needed spark to the film on several occasions. Deepika has an excellent chemistry with Vin. On the other side, Vin Diesel too delivers a great performance. But, to be honest Donnie Yen is the show stealer here. In this latest edition of xXx, the villains modus operandi isn't limited upto hacking, it also involves global destruction by dropping satellites on random locations. The film has some good moments, high octane stunts, predictable plot, star power. The script of the film isn't much interesting, but it has the global star power that won't let the film end up in the red. Although, the film. exists in an alternate reality, where the laws of physics doesn't apply. Fans of Deepika will be disappointed, her character isn't given much screentime. But she plays her part very well. Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, Samuel L. Jackson and Kris Woo won't let you feel bored while watching this film.
Final Words - Blame it on much hype of the franchise or blame it on Deepika Padukone, but accept the fact that this film isn't much intelligent. Although, if you are a fan of Vin Diesel or Deepika Padukone, you will surely enjoy the film. One Time Watchable !
