Shah Rukh Khan to play a soldier again in his next film.



Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be playing a soldier again in his next home production, on a bigger scale. SRK's home production Red Chillies Entertainment's next will be a war film based on Indian Army and Indian Air Force's rescue operation "Operation Khukri" in Africa. A source claims that this is among the most expensive projects SRK's production house has taken.

"It has been researched extensively, and will be mounted on a very large scale. It will be a true depiction of a massive military operation and will celebrate our heroes. The director and cast will be finalised soon, the film will roll later this year. The film will be shot in real locations in Africa, along with some real armed combat battle scenes. The team has spent a lot of time in developing the script in association with Azure Entertainment", the source added.

Earlier, Akshay Kumar did Airlift, which was based on an Indian Businessman's effort to rescue more than 1,70,000 Indians left aground on a shore in Kuwait after Iraq invaded Kuwait in August 1990. This year, we saw Rangoon. Unfortunately, Rangoon couldn't get a hit tag. Now Salman Khan is coming with Tubelight, based on Indo-Sino war.

What is Operation Khukri?
Operation Khurkti was Indian Army and Indian Air Force's rescue operation in Africa, carried out in a tropical forest Sierra Leone, West Africa in 2000. The mission was to rescue around 223 peacekeepers of India, who were sent to Sierra Leone by UN (United Nations) to help the govt. there in tackling RUF (Revolutionary United Front), a rebel group. Major Harinder Sood (Now Lt Col) led the operation and around 120 IAF (Indian Air Force) officers were flown from India to Africa. The team successfully rescued all the peacekeepers.
