RATING - 3.5/5

PLOT - Shiv/Gattu (Rajkumar Rao) loves a girl in his neighbourhood, Binny (Shruti Haasan), but a misunderstanding leads everyone to believe that he only has brotherly feelings for her.

REVIEW - The movie takes you to a world where grown men still operate by the rules of teenaged boys - they play gully cricket, hide from girls on Raksha Bandhan, put silly curses on each other and ask their parents for money.

Gattu aka Shiv (Rajkumar Rao) lives in Lucknow. He has loved Binny (Shruti Haasan) all his life, and wins her over after a trying so much. But Gattu’s father (Darshan Jariwala) spots Binny with his friend Bhura (Harry Tengiri) and considers it as his responsibility to immediately explain to whole scenario to Binny’s elder brother Jaydev (Ninad Kamat) about Binny and Bhure’s affair. Trouble begins when Jaydev lands a tight slap on Bhure’s face. Bhure’s family swear to take revenge of this insult and take it as a challenge to get Binny married to Bhure. Binny suddenly has two prospective grooms and everyone assumes that Gattu is nothing but her rakhi-brother and one confusion leads to another.

The plot is little bit juvenile. But, when a character suggests that he’d rather bury his sister alive than marry her off for love, you want someone to speak up against him; when another character shames Binny for hanging out with boys, you want to hear an answer to a remark, typically in a sharp, angry, or witty manner. The film keeps you engaged.

Few characters are imbecilic; though Binny admits that she “used to be a firecracker but has now fizzled out” for no apparent reason. The background score and the music tries to tell you what emotion to feel. The first half is good, the second half has a few dull moments, but overall it's an entertaining one!

Rajkumar Rao plays his part very well. His dialogue delivery and comic timing will give you several entertaining moments. Shruti Haasan looks gorgeous, and impresses with her performance. Harry Tengiri is fantastic!

FINAL WORDS - Behen Hogi Teri is a love story where the lover does everything what he can do to get his beloved married off to another guy. Rajkumar Rao's acting and the dialogues are the most enjoyable part of the movie.
