Tubelight box office collection day 7 : Salman Khan's film has been rejected, collects Rs. 4.50 cr
Salman Khan's Tubelight has been getting a lukewarm response at the box office. Though the film managed to enter Rs. 100 cr club but expectations were really high from Salman Khan's Eid release. Tubelight didn't performed well as we expected. The film became the second highest opener of 2017 after Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion. Also, despite negative reviews, the film managed to beat the first week collections of Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 and Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil. Tubelight collected Rs 106.86 cr in 7 days, Jolly LLB 2 collected only Rs 77.71 cr , while Kaabil raked in Rs 82.18 cr. Unfortunately, Tubelight failed to beat Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees, which collected Rs 118.36 cr in the first week of it's release.
After an average opening and weekend, Tubelight failed to collect as much as we expected on the festival of Eid and since then it has been crashing down. The main reason for it's under-performance at the box office can be credited to the largely negative reviews and thumbs down from the audience. Even die-hard fans were left disappointed after watching the film.ALSO READ - After Tubelight Salman Khan teams up with Kabir Khan for another film to prove his acting skills - read exclusive details
