Salman Khan starrer highly awaited film Tubelight is all set to hit the cinemas tomorrow, so far the movie has released in Dubai and the early reviews are out. So far Tubelight has got mixed reviews from critics. Firstpost is in full praise of Tubelight, especially the direction, visual effects, performance of leads, SRK's cameo, the theme, the idea of anti-war and the strength of hope.
Lets head over to the review - Salman plays Laxman Singh Bisht, a mentally challenged man, who doesn't takes off his shirt. Tubelight marks the third outing of Salman Khan and director Kabir Khan. Their last two films - "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", smashed the box office records, we hope the same result for Tubelight. Tubelight is adapted from Hollywood flick "A Little Boy". Set amidst the 1962 Indo-Sino war, Tubelight is an emotional drama. Salman Khan plays Laxman Singh Bisht, who is a mentally challenged man with an intelligence of a 8 year-old boy. Laxman is given an epithet "Tubelight" by his neighbours because he is frail-minded. Sohail Khan plays Laxman's younger brother Bharat. He plays a soldier in Indian army, who gets disappeared in the war and this thing sets the proceedings for the story. Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, she plays a heroine and child artist Matin Rey Tangu is playing as Guo, they both are making their Bollywood debut with Tubelight, this one is Late actor Om Puri's last film the makers dedicated this film to the late actor, he plays Salman's uncle, while Shah Rukh Khan is having a cameo appearance as magician Go-Go Pasha.

The first review states that - "From the beginning till interval, it is noticeable that Salman Khan is the heart of Tubelight. Salman exhibits same clothes more or less throughout the whole film, the character of Om Puri - a wise, old uncle has been cast to excellence. The VFX effects are brilliant and deserve a special mention : Far away from what we've seen in Bollywood movies so far. The way every shot has been framed, concept and investment makes it an interesting watch. The film manages to deliver a good message at the end : Hope can pull us through in any situation we may find ourselves in. An efficacious watch."

The Khaleej Times said - Salman and Sohail "bromance" is the best thing in the film. "The best part about Tubelight is Sohail Khan and Salman Khan's bromance. Director Kabir Khan paired up real-life brothers on silver screen, they are truly close to each other. Their bromance is so natural as well as refreshing that we want to see them together again." Unfortunately, the rest of the movie fails to live upto expectations.

As for Shah Rukh Khan's cameo, FirstPost said, "The one constant of the film is Laxman's ability to have faith : that everything will be alright, and his brother will return and the man who makes it happen is Shah Rukh Khan. The scene itself was a small disappointment, but SRK's mindblowing act brings Laxman a much needed uplift of confidence."
