Box Office Prediction -
Right now, Jagga Jasoos has generated a lot of buzz around it. And afterall, Ranibr Kapoor and Anurag Basu are coming back after 5 years, so fans are expecting something special. Also, Jagga Jasoos marks the reunion of Ranbir-Katrina after Rajneeti (2010), fans are excited to watch the sizzling pair again on big screen. The superior thing is the fact that the kids are really awestruck by the trailer, even they are excited for the film. The advantage when a kid desires to watch a movie is that people won’t buy one ticket, the whole family watches along and that clearly helps the movie in making good numbers at the box office. There hasn’t been any Indian film, that has been attempted in this genre, that’s the uniqueness of Anurag Basu directorial. While there have been kids-only films like Krrish that were fun to watch. But Jagga Jasoos is film with fantasy, romance, comedy, musical, action filled with adventure. A lot of stuff coming together in a film is a treat to watch and that brings in a lot of innovation for the movie. The Anurag Basu directorial is releasing on 2500 screens globally. The makers recently released a statement which says, “Jagga Jasoos is all set to release across 2500 screens tomorrow globally! In India, Disney maps the success of The Jungle Book release strategy on Jagga Jasoos – India to release in 1800 + screens across 1150 Cinemas. Overseas, the film will release in close to 40 countries across 610+ screens. North America (207), UK (119), Gulf (77) and Australia-New Zealand (41)!”
The screen count of Jagga Jasoos isn’t bad but also not much great. Jagga Jasoos deserves a wider release to bring in big numbers at the box office. But the buzz is still very positive. Jagga Jasoos isn’t having a Khan or a Kumar playing the lead, that usually garneres a gigantic opening. It has Ranbir-Katrina, who are mutually stars. The film has the potential to earn Rs 10-15 crore on it’s very first day and can easily draw Rs 30-40 crore over the weekend.
