Salman Khan insisted Mouni Roy to give auditions for Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Gold’ – read details
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has helped plenty of people out there to begin their career in Bollywood be it Katrina Kaif, Aditya Pancholi’s son Sooraj Pancholi, Zareen Khan, Daisy Shah or girlfriend Iulia Vantur. Now, the list has been joined by Naagin fame Mouni Roy.
The gorgeous actress is going to make her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s upcoming sports biopic film ‘Gold’, but did you know, that it was Salman Khan who insisted the actress to give auditions for the role? A source claims, “Salman Bhaijaan made Daisy Shah the leading lady in ‘Jai Ho’ and has launched the singing career of his alleged girlfriend Iulia Vantur. He saw Mouni’s work and felt she deserves a big place in Bollywood. It was Salman Bhaijaan, who spoke to someone from the unit of Gold and got her an audition. Of course, Mouni did well, afterwards bagged the role.”
Mouni Roy will be making her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’. It’s not something that we are ignorant of. But many of us were shocked when we got to know that Mouni was actually going to make her debut with Akshay Kumar instead of Salman Khan. Because, it looked like Salman Khan was highly impressed with the Naagin fame actress work as she made fairly only a few appearances on Bigg Boss, where the actress promoted her TV show. So when Salman Khan met her at his Panvel farmhouse, he was more than besieged to see her pure dedication towards her Bollywood ambitions and that’s when he decided to take up her cause.
‘Gold’ is being directed by Reema Kagti. Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy along with the entire team of ‘Gold’ are in London shooting for it. The film also stars Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Sunny Kaushal.
