Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Dear Zindagi" is now amongst the top weekend openers of the year !
The opening weekend collections of Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Dear Zindagi" are out and Gauri Shinde's film has now moved into a higher league of collections.
Dear Zindagi collected Rs 32.50Cr in the opening weekend. Dear Zindagi is now amongst the top opening weekends of 2016 :
Sultan - Rs 105.53Cr
MS Dhoni - The Untold Story - Rs 66Cr
Housefull 3 - Rs 53.32Cr
FAN - Rs 52.35Cr
Rustom - Rs 50.42Cr
Airlift - Rs 44.30Cr
Baaghi - Rs 38.58Cr
Dishoom - Rs 37.32Cr
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - Rs 35.60Cr
Udta Punjab - Rs 33.80Cr
Dear Zindagi - Rs 32.50Cr
Mohenjo Daro - Rs 30.54Cr
Shivaay - Rs 28.56Cr
Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Gauri Shinde's directorial "Dear Zindagi" isn't a typical Bollywood film. If one looks at the list of top opening weekends of the year (given above), Dear Zindagi is the most unconventional of them all, along with Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor's Udta Punjab.
While the weekend collections of Rs 25Cr would have been good enough for Alia and SRK starrer film to celebrate, the fact that the film has crossed Rs. 30 crore milestone means Gauri Shinde's "Dear Zindagi" would now end up in the upwards of Rs. 60 - 70Cr as the lifetime sum.
For Karan Johar (Dharma Productions), Dear Zindagi is yet another success within a month after Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil". Though Siddharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer "Baar Baar Dekho" was a major disappointment earlier this year, Karan Johar had tasted success with the biggie "Baahubali" and also Siddharth, Fawad and Alia starrer "Kapoor & Sons". With a 75% success rate in 2016, Karan would indeed be in a happy state while he gets set to kick-start his campaign in 2017. Alia Bhatt has been impressive with her last three films in a row [Kapoor & Sons, Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi] while superstar Shah Rukh Khan has now moved on from "FAN" to "Raees" with his latest film "Dear Zindagi" giving his fans some good enough moments to smile.
