Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will begin shooting for her upcoming film FANNEY KHAN opposite Anil Kapoor from the end of August - read details
It has been almost an year since Ae Dil Hai Mushkil released on Diwali. The film marked the return of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the big screen. Now, Ash is all set to surprise her fans with another film. Yes! She has signed another film, but this time it's with Anil Kapoor. The film has been titled as 'Fanney Khan'. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be collaborating with the Anil Kapoor after 17 years. They were last seen in Satish Kaushik's 2000 romantic drama Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. Though the film is supposed to go on floors by April 2018. Ash will start shooting for her next titled as 'Fanney Khan' opposite Anil Kapoor from the end of August.
Fanney Khan is directed by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra. Later Prerna Arora, co-producer of the film confirmed it to Mumbai Mirror, "It's a happy, slice-of-life film.We approached Aishwarya for the part and are glad she agreed to come on-board." Fanney Khan was supposed to be a remake of hollywood flick 'Everybody’s Famous!' directed, produced and written by Dominique Deruddere, but later the makers made changes to the script. Anil Kapoor is playing a singer in the film while Aishwarya will be seen crooning to a number. Yes, it will be her debut as a singer. While Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor will not be romantically paired in the film. Fanney Khan will be their second musical drama film together, since they shared screen space in Subhash Ghai's 'Taal' (1999).

The film is likely to revolve around a 17 year old aspiring singer, whose career takes off once her unemployed father kidnaps the top singer of the country. The film is being co produced by Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra and Prerna Arora's KriRaj Entertainment. Pinkvilla quoted, "The team starts building the set in Mumbai next month and Anil will kick off shooting in the first week of August. Aishwarya joins him by the month-end and the film will wrap up in a start-to-finish schedule by October."
