Review - Bilal Siddiqi's fictional espionage thriller novel Bard of Blood has been adapted for the small screen by Netflix, and that manifests on Bard of Blood with Shakespeare references in all episode titles, exposing a whole new audience to the espionage thriller. The story follows previously excommunicated RAW agent Kabir Anand, who returns to the agency as part of an undercover operation to rescue agents who are being held hostage in Balochistan. It takes a lot of courage to work on a concept like this in web series, the cinematography, camera work, locales, lighting, and ofcourse the standout performances are soul of this series. The shots of Balochistan / Pakistan are scenic and are awe inspiring and definitely give a Taliban and Afghan feel. Every episode will make you think about what's gonna happen next. It's a great show for the people who follow current affairs. Every character has done a very good job to portray their part, Sobhita Dhulipala delivers a brilliant performance, Emraan Hashmi is the real treat plus, he's back in action with a sustainable script. Kirti Kulhari displays her top-notch acting skills, Vineet has done a commendable job, he again proves his mettle with his acting skills. Jaideep Ahlawat is excellent and so is the entire cast. The 7 episodes series has a beautiful cinematography and it's packed with loads of action. You can watch it for once and it entices you for what's next. It's a bold move by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and yes criticism would come but it should be taken as a constructive appreciation.
