Shivaay Movie Review : Ajay Devgn's film fails to impress !
Cast - Ajay Devgn, Erika Kaar, Sayyesha Saigal, Abigail Eames, Saurabh Shukla, Girish Karnad
Director - Ajay Devgn
Duration - 2 hr 49 minutes
First of all, if you are Ajay Devgn's fan, shut this tab right now, go and watch Shivaay. If not, then have a look at our review.
Story - The film starts with a scenic shot of snowy mountains, a shirtless Ajay Devgn lying flat on top of a snowy mountain. He performs some high octane action packed moves — jumping, crawling, walking & running from one peak to another, showcasing his mountaineering skills.
The VFX effects are brilliant. The story proceeds as his love interest Olga (Erika Kaar) appears. Shivaay (Ajay Devgn) saves her life in a deadly avalanche, they both fall in love.
Olga is pregnant, she doesn't wants to give birth to a child, she doesn't wants to give birth to a child.Shivaay insists her, and she agrees to deliver the child, a daughter is born but Olga refuses to raise it with him and leaves the daughter behind and goes to Bulgaria.
9 Years later, Shivaay is happily living with his daughter Gaura (Abigail Eames). Very soon Gaura comes to know that her mother is alive, Gaura forces her father "Shivaay" to take her to Bulgaria to meet her mother.
During their visit to Bulgaria, Gaura gets kidnapped by a child trafficking gang & thus begins the cat and mouse chase of Shivaay with the kidnappers.
Will Shivaay be able to save his daughter Gaura? How far will a father go for the safety of his daughter?
Movie Review : Shivaay is Ajay Devgn's second directorial after "U, Me Aur Hum".
After so many years, Ajay is trying his hands once again at film direction.
But once again, his film direction and script sense seems like it hasn't improved. the basic premiss is ripped off from Taken.
Unfortunately, they made this an emotional melodrama on the relations of a father and a daughter.
Ajay Devgn's character is like one man army. It’s hard to believe that a man who has never stepped out of Himalayas, How can he so easily shut down a Bulgarian flesh trade racket ?
To be honest, Shivaay is only Ajay Devgn's show. Ajay Devgn's performance is mind blowing, but his act in the love story looks childish.
Erika Kaar speaks awkward Hindi, she should have spoken English instead.
Sayyesha Saigal's role is like a guest appearance, too small. Shivaay is not a good choice for her debut.
Abigail Eames (Gaura) acts brilliantly. She nails her role as the daughter of Shivaay.
Vir Das & Girish Karnad are extremely unnecessary characters in the film.
Shivaay is an action thriller, but somehow the movie fails to impress the audience. Visuals are good, but the story and direction fails.
